Job Title: Engineering Technician
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Pay rate: Upto $45/hr
Location: Andover, MA
Work Type: 100% Onsite, Monday - Friday 8-5
Job Description:
- Our client is looking for an exceptional Engineering Technician 3 who can support the engineering team by performing technical tasks related to documentation and testing of new client equipment in development.
- An ideal candidate will have a background in electrical engineering and experience creating technical drawings and plans for electrical equipment.
- Supports engineering activities such as documentation, testing, and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems or specialized test equipment
- Engineering Technician works closely with product design engineers to document technical design details including updating, creating and editing detailed wiring and layout diagrams for electrical equipment
- Prepares and/or updates assembly Bill of Materials and provides engineering documentation as required
- Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment
- Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions
- Assists in the design, construction, documentation, test and check-out of test equipment
Required Skills:
- Requires an Associate degree or equivalent technician experience
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience
- Experience creating technical documentation
- Solid understanding of electrical system design and documentation
- Proficiency with Visio and Solidworks preferred
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
- Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time
- Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 20 pounds
- Frequently positions self to perform tasks and positions objects below, at, and above shoulder level
- Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
- Must be able to exchange accurate information
- Operates in an office and/or laboratory environment
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
- Ability to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
- Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heat
