Payroll Specialist

Job Description:

Are you a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist seeking a challenging role in a dynamic organization? We're looking for a dedicated professional to join our team in Newburyport, MA. As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and reconcile employee time worked, pay, and deductions.
• Audit and analyze payroll reports for accuracy and consistency.
• Manage payroll pay and benefit codes within ADP.
• Oversee year-end payroll tasks, including W-2 preparation.
• Provide backup support for the Purchasing department.
• Handle state jurisdiction registration and compliance.
• Stay updated on payroll policies and regulations.
• Prepare manual payroll checks as needed.
• Reconcile monthly benefit bills and prepare journal entries.
• Create and audit payroll and headcount reports for external auditors.
• Collaborate with supervisors to resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Assist with various ad-hoc payroll projects.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in business, human resources, or related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on payroll processing experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with ADP payroll systems.
• Experience with Epicor Accounting system is a plus.
• Expert-level proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
