Job Description: Position Overview:
- Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager with a proven track record in managing complex projects and driving successful payroll time and labor implementations.
- The ideal candidate will have expertise in implementing Time and Labor systems - Oracle Time and Labor (OTL) is preferred but not required, advanced proficiency in utilizing SmartSheet as the main project management tool, and the ability to collaborate effectively.
- This role requires exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, an understanding of processes, documentation, and setting/managing timelines to ensure the core time and labor team meets key project milestones.
- The Project Manager will also possess strong business acumen and the ability to the project lead cross-functional teams while delivering high-quality results within established timelines.
Basic Purpose:
- The Project Manager will lead the project end-to-end within Corporate Payroll Services by means of project management and project execution within the Oracle Cloud Time and Labor system (OTL).
- The main functions of this role entail managing project timelines, tracking all key items related to the project, and setting due dates and key milestone phases of the project to capture all tasks for a successful implementation.
- The individual for this role will lead from a project manager aspect to ensure the team and external third party meet core deliverables. Additional aspects of this role include scheduling meetings, initiating and conducting meetings, creating and sending out meeting minutes, documentation, creating process maps, creating/developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), and tracking all key aspects of the project.
- This role will report to the Sr. Manager, Payroll Systems and will be the payroll project manager lead for this company-wide, high-profile project. In addition, the project manager will work collaboratively and support the Sr. Manager, Payroll Systems.
- In this role, the project manager will act as one of the main liaisons working closely with the client’s third-party development teams.
- The individual will also work closely with Payroll, IT, and HRIT for the duration of the project.
- The project manager will be responsible for managing and project coordinating the following phases: Testing, Change Management, Training Communications, and Knowledge Transfer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and milestones using SmartSheet as the primary project management tool.
- Project management of building a strategy/plan, support testing plan phases, change management, communication, architecture, and applicable policies and procedures while ensuring compliance.
- Collaborate with key business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to establish clear deliverables.
- Take meeting minutes and follow-up regarding key action items from project meetings
- Drive task alignment and ensure project teams meet critical deadlines to achieve key milestones and project objectives.
- Present project updates, reports, and outcomes to stakeholders and leadership teams in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
- Working with the Sr. Manager, proactively identifies and communicates to leadership potential project risks, develops mitigation strategies, and ensures smooth project execution.
- Demonstrate strong business acumen to align project objectives with organizational goals and deliver measurable business value.
- Ensure project documentation is thorough, accurate, and up to date, with a focus on writing, reading, and comprehension excellence.
- Drives project progress according to planned schedule.
- All other shifting duties and responsibilities according to the business needs of the project as assigned by management
Qualifications:
Education:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business, or Human Resources or equivalent experience required
Work Experience:
- 3 years of Project Management implementing payroll technology projects with an emphasis on payroll time and labor for large, multi-state employers with complex policies and rules.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, corporate-dynamic business environment
Other:
