Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- As a true servant leader, the Scrum Master is primarily responsible for ensuring the Agile/Scrum team achieves its goals.
- Communicates status to customers, team, and management as needed.
- Exhibits the behaviors of an Agile leader with an Agile approach. Helps the team embrace core Agile values and principles.
- Leads scrum teams for medium to complex deliveries.
- Leads the team's efforts in relentless improvement and facilitates the team's retrospective.
- Facilitates all the team's meetings and ceremonies such as Daily Standups, Sprint Retrospectives etc., as well as meetings and activities spanning across multiple teams
- Removes roadblocks, many of which will be beyond the team's authority or will require support from other teams.
- Coordinates with various teams such as Infrastructure & Operations, Security, Landscape Services, Network, Performance Testing, Software Packaging, Product, and Engineering teams to resolve dependencies, blockers.
- Ensures that goals and scope are understood by everyone on the Agile/Scrum Team.
- Ensures the Team understands scrum theory, practices, rules, and values.
- Improves team performance by identifying, managing, and supporting the resolution of team impediments and risks.
- Displays an engineering mindset and systems thinking while understanding the economic view.
- Embraces a continuous improvement mindset and highlights opportunities to improve the efficiency of Scrum teams.
- Leads and facilitates the deployment of changes to Production by adhering to the processes.
- 5-10 years experience as a Scrum Master
- Experienced and adept user of Agile Lifecycle Management tools, particularly JIRA Align, JIRA Cloud, and Confluence (required)
- Communicative and collaborative - excellent interpersonal and group facilitation skills, including the ability to work with diverse stakeholders and personality types.
- Assertive - must be able to ensure agile and scrum concepts and principles are adhered to, and comfortable with being a voice of reason and authority.
- Situationally Aware - must be the first to notice differences and issues as they arise and elevate them to team and to management, where appropriate.
- Creativity, initiative, and flexibility tempered by pragmatism, patience, and attention to detail.
- Strong Facilitation Skills - ability to run improvement/problem-solving sessions across multiple teams and larger groups.
- Retail POS and payments experience (heavy preference)
- Oracle Xstore (preference)
- Agile Scrum and SAFe (preference); SAFe is a strong preference being that is what our Client does
- Fully remote; need to be flexible as they may need to work global hours because they may work with a UK scrum team (addres adhoc requests); but would majority of the time work schedule would be 8-5 pm EST
