Senior Data Engineer

Job Description:

Are you a passionate and skilled data engineer looking to make a positive impact on safe human spaceflight? Our company is seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business partners to identify business problems and develop data solutions.
• Define and communicate data strategy, standards, and patterns.
• Partner with other architecture fields to design scalable and secure data solutions.
• Apply the latest research and industry trends to build enterprise data solutions.
• Be a hands-on architect and build solution prototypes.
• Manage, govern, and promote enterprise data model management practices.
• Develop enterprise data models for batch and streaming architectures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience with modeling HR data and Workday required.
• 5 years of experience with advanced SQL and scripting (Python/Pyspark) development.
• 2 years of experience with cloud-based infrastructure (Databricks/Redshift).
• 5 years of experience in enterprise data architecture, design patterns, tradeoff analysis, and delivery acceleration in cloud-native environments.
• 3 years of experience with data solutions enabling Analytical, Operational, Data Science, and Client data flows.
• 2 years of experience developing or working with taxonomies/ontologies.
• Experience working/collaborating with Master Data Management and Data Governance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.  

Desired Qualifications:  

• Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar analytical field.
• Experience with data modeling tools such as DBT.
