Production Supervisor

We are seeking a Production Superintendent who will be responsible for overseeing product manufacturing, finished product quality and raw material management for multiple lines in a 24-hour manufacturing process, as well as employee training and development. The superintendent is also responsible for communicating and supporting corporate goals and facility targets for safety, productivity and product quality, effectively problem-solve and troubleshooting process personal issues and develop corrective actions. The superintendent may also support the facility by assuming the responsibilities of the plant manager in their absence.

Required skills, experience, qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in management, engineering or relevant field with a minimum of 5 years operational leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Manages a staff of 10 supervisors, 2 process engineers and a process technician and indirectly managing a team of 360 union hourly employees, sets direction and deploys resources. Responsible for performance evaluations, pay reviews, hiring, and terminating.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Proven ability to diagnose and solve process issues.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to work and partner with Plant Leadership team.
• Demonstrated ability to lead change and implement continuous improvement.
• Working knowledge and understanding of SAP or ERP systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• May be required to lift, carry, push or pull up to and including 25 pounds.
• Minimal travel required 0 – 10 days per year
• Work environment is typical of a manufacturing facility; may be exposed to environmental conditions of cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust mist gas fumes, extensive walking or climbing, etc.

This position’s primary role is to oversee product manufacturing, finished product quality and raw material management for multiple lines in a 24-hour manufacturing process, as well as employee training and development. It is a key position that supports each of the business units.

This position is the primary role of the Plant Superintendent, who will lead a team of 300 hourly and 11 salary employees and be responsible for all aspects of the operation, including safety, production, maintenance, warehouse, budget management, productivity improvements, and quality. needs to be a people person, process mind-set, on the floor - building relationships/strong floor presence, positivity - needs to have the curiosity to want to understand the process - professional communication (word/outlook/excel)... good working relationship with the union - culture is very opinionated, they speak up, not quiet group... a lot of emotional intelligence. needs to have emotional security - needs to be able to collaborate with not just the floor, but with the other functions, strong decision making skills - 24/7 availability.

Pay: $92,738.00 - $140,000.00 per year
