What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructional Assistant - Paraprofessional - School Year 2025-26 position at Global Village Academy Collaborative?
Under the direction of a licensed administrator, this position is responsible for monitoring and/or presenting reinforcing skills with small groups of students or one-on-one, maintaining and updating student records and monitoring and recording student's academic and behavioral progress. May assist classroom teachers by helping to plan and present lessons, prepare instructional materials, monitor students in various non-classroom settings and/or assist in the administration of tests. Individuals in this position may be assigned to one or more classrooms or the in-house suspension classroom. Some Instructional Assistant's may assist their lead teacher with translation and/or verbal communication using the second language skills when possible.Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred; minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent.
- English language skills required
- Facilitate and/or monitor small group and one-on-one instruction of students
- Help maintain and update records of students' progress, attendance, test scores and/or personal information. Input data and information into the computer system
- May plan and present lessons to promote and supplement skills, concepts, and strategies introduced in the classroom
- Monitoring students in non-classroom setting
- Help prepare instructional materials for use in class or "pull-out" sessions
- Help secure supplies, materials and equipment and maintain order
- Attend job-related in-services
- Help with parent volunteers
- Help administer scheduled testing
- Additional duties as requested

- Ability to work with students with various backgrounds and abilities
- Advanced skill in dealing with students and staff with diverse needs at various levels

- Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers, work processing software, and basic office equipment
- English language skills required. Oral and written fluency in second language may be preferred and required depending on building assignment
