Location :

This is a full-time, onsite position based at Global Village Academy (GVA) Douglas County in Parker, CO. Occasional travel to other GVA campuses or meeting locations in Aurora, Thornton, and Denver may be required.

Job Summary :

The Information Technology Support Manager is responsible for overseeing IT operations and technology infrastructure at Global Village Academy (GVA) Douglas County. This role involves implementing IT policies, managing school-wide technology initiatives, and ensuring the security and efficiency of all IT systems. The IT Support Manager provides tier-one and tier-two technical support, but more importantly, they play a key role in technology planning, asset management, and IT strategy alignment with school objectives.

This position requires a proactive leader who can analyze IT needs, develop best practices, manage vendor relationships, and provide technical guidance to school administrators, teachers, and staff.

The role includes logging and categorizing Help Desk incidents, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network connectivity issues, and ensuring effective communication with end users. The IT Support Manager also collaborates closely with the school leadership team and the broader GVA Collaborative Team to ensure smooth technology operations across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

IT Strategy and Systems Administration

  • Implement IT policies, best practices, and standard operating procedures to improve technology efficiency across the school.
  • Manage technology infrastructure, including network security, data protection, and system updates to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Oversee device lifecycle management, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning of school-issued laptops, desktops, Chromebooks, iPads, and smartboards.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technology solutions to enhance educational tools and administrative operations.
  • Work with school leadership and the GVA Collaborative team to ensure IT strategy aligns with academic and operational goals.

Technical Leadership and Support

  • Act as the primary onsite IT resource, providing tier-one and tier-two support and escalating complex issues to higher-level IT specialists or vendors.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for hardware, software, and network connectivity issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to school operations.
  • Oversee user training and technology onboarding for new staff and faculty, ensuring they are proficient with school-approved applications and devices.
  • Provide support for Promethean Smartboard technology, ensuring proper functionality in classrooms.
  • Compliance, Security, and Vendor Management

  • Ensure compliance with data privacy laws (e.g., FERPA, CIPA) and protect personally identifiable information (PII) in accordance with GVA policies.
  • Work with third-party vendors to manage IT service contracts, software licensing, and security updates.
  • Manage and maintain the school's security system, including surveillance cameras, access controls, and related infrastructure. This includes troubleshooting access issues, retrieving video footage for administrative needs, coordinating with vendors for technical support, and overseeing vendor activities while on campus to ensure proper system functionality and security compliance.
  • Monitor cybersecurity risks and implement strategies to safeguard school networks from potential threats.
  • Collaboration and Project Management

  • Serve as the IT liaison between the GVA Douglas County school, the GVA Collaborative Team, and external IT consultants.
  • Assist in planning and implementing state-mandated testing technology requirements to ensure a seamless testing environment.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance school-wide technology integration.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills in IT infrastructure management.
  • Expertise in network administration, cybersecurity, and device management.
  • Experience in developing IT policies and implementing best practices.

  • Microsoft Office (2010, 2016)
  • G Suite for Education
  • Google Chromebook Management Console
  • Malware / virus remediation
  • Microsoft Server (2008 R2, 2016) network printing
  • Wireless access points
  • Ability to analyze and resolve technical issues independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with staff, teachers, and administrators.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally travel to other school locations.
  • Education and Knowledge :

  • A ssociate's or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited institution (or equivalent education and experience).
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited institution (or equivalent education and experience).
  • Minimum 3 years of IT support experience in a networked environment utilizing Microsoft Windows and G Suite for Education.
  • Experience working in a K-8 educational environment with students, teachers, and administration staff is strongly preferred.

    Salary : $65,000 - $71,500
