Summer Activity Leader/Assistant for Global Village Hawaii (English Language School)
Do you enjoy interacting with children and young adults from different countries? Global Village Hawaii is looking for energetic and outgoing individuals to work with children and teenagers (ages 6 – 17). You will be responsible for leading/assisting in various fun activities inside and outside of the school to insure the safety and well-being of the students.
The summer program is from the end of March 2025 – April 2025 and work hours are between 8:30am – 1:30pm on weekdays with varied hours on Saturdays.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Provide a positive, fun and educational experience to international students on school sponsored activities.
· Conduct games, sports, and arts and crafts.
· Partake in activities and encourage student participation.
· Enforce the English Only Policy on all activities.
· Keep track of students and regularly take head counts.
· Confirm the logistics and itinerary of the activity with the Student Services Coordinator and be on time to lead or assist with the activity.
· Familiarize yourself with local area, bus stops, attractions, and landmarks so that you will be ready to lead activities.
· May be asked to research the upcoming activity and help create an itinerary, informational handouts and literature for students participating in the activity.
· Take photos and videos of daily activity and upload each day to GVH social media files.
· Reports to the Student Services Coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Responsible and organized
· Communicate effectively
· Outgoing personality
· Team player
· Problem-solving skills to overcome obstacles before and during activities
· Possess a general knowledge of Hawaii and other activity related information such as bus routes, landmarks, history, culture, etc.
· Physically fit (Some activities require physical activities such as hiking, swimming, etc.)
· Experience working with children and teenagers
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
· Social media experience
· Experience leading group activities
· Experience working with international students
· Experience working with teenagers and/or younger children
· First Aid/CPR certified
Compensation: $15-$17/hour, part time
