Position Overview:The Infant Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for infants aged 6 weeks to 36 months. The teacher will design and implement age-appropriate activities that support physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development while maintaining strong communication with parents and team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Classroom Environment:
- Create a warm, welcoming, and safe classroom environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Infant Care:
- Provide attentive care, including feeding, diapering, and soothing.
- Monitor infants’ developmental milestones and document observations.
- Ensure each child’s needs are met promptly and with sensitivity.
- Curriculum and Activities:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans to support developmental goals.
- Use sensory activities, music, and play to encourage exploration and learning.
- Engage infants in one-on-one and group interactions.
- Parent Communication:
- Communicate daily with parents regarding their child’s progress, routines, and activities.
- Provide regular written reports, such as daily sheets and developmental updates.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with co-teachers and administrators to ensure the highest quality care.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
- Compliance:
- Follow all licensing regulations and organizational policies.
- Maintain certifications, including CPR and First Aid.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred).
- Minimum of 12 ECE (Early Childhood Education) units in child development and 3 units in infant/toddler.
- 3 years prior experience in an infant care setting is preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
