YOUR IMPACT
As a Healthcare and Sciences Director, you'll be at the forefront of client engagement, project execution, and team leadership. You will be responsible for guiding projects from concept to completion, responding to RFPs, delivering impactful presentations, and ensuring excellence in execution. Your leadership will directly influence the quality, efficiency, and success of complex projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of engineers and designers, ensuring seamless collaboration across disciplines.
- Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery while serving as the primary client liaison.
- Maintain high technical standards by managing the QA/QC process, utilizing company review forms, and documenting evaluations.
- Supervise project engineers and direct reports, providing regular guidance and performance support.
- Work with leadership to schedule projects efficiently and allocate resources effectively.
- Develop detailed bid proposals, contracts, and cost estimates in alignment with company standards.
- Offer expert engineering insights in system design, calculations, and technical specifications.
- Regularly review project timelines and budgets, adjusting resources to meet objectives.
- Build and nurture long-term client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service.
- Collaborate with Department Directors to drive operational efficiency and team synergy.
- Partner with executive leadership on hiring, training, and mentorship initiatives.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance team development.
- Work closely with Accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting and project accounting.
- Oversee department budgeting and revenue forecasting to meet financial targets.
- Support business development efforts by leveraging technical expertise to promote services.
HEALTHCARE AND SCIENCES DIRECTOR QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification
- 15 years of progressive engineering and managerial experience with a strong record of accomplishment in the design and project management for critical care facilities and laboratories
- Experience in the management and multi-disciplined team of MEP engineers and designers
- Expertise in multi-discipline engineering (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection)
- Proficiency in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical/IT systems design for healthcare and life sciences
- Strong project management skills with experience meeting deadlines
- Knowledgeable of local, state, and national codes (NFPA, Joint Meeting, FGI, AHJ)
- Experience with load analysis and energy modeling (eQUEST, Trane Trace, ENERGY STAR, Carrier HAP)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
- Familiarity with USGBC LEED standards (preferred)
- Strong financial management and business acumen
- Skilled in managing projects, internal and external resources, and workflows
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
