What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector position at GlobalEdge Technologies?
Seeking a Quality Inspector for a full-time contract position. The work hours are M-Thu 3-11 p.m. (Mandatory OT, once trained, will be on the back end of the shift from 11 p.m.-1 a.m.) F 1-9 p.m. (No Mandatory OT on Fridays). Initial duration - three to six months.
Quality Inspector/Quality Engineer in this role will be expected to perform tests on assembly of transformers per established procedures in efforts to monitor conformance to quality standards. The person will be expected to do the following:
- Perform the following tests as required per established procedures: ratio (variety), resistance (variety), continuity, Vacuum Fault Interrupter (VFI), Current Transformer (CT), and HIPOT (applied potential).
- Inspection of unit nameplates, stamp impedance value on nameplates, and secure nameplates to tested units.
- Perform visual inspection on interior of unit upon completion of testing.
- Completing various company forms to communicate inspection status and other information and to document inspection results per established procedures.
- Collecting various types of data per established procedures as required.
Skills Required
- Must understand electrical theory and can read and interpret blueprints
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Meet or exceed quality and quantity standards
- Follow established working procedures
- Demonstrate effective communication skills
- Understanding of Bill of Materials
Education Required
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Education Desired
Associates of Electrical Testing OR bachelor’s degree in engineering desired.
Experience Required
- 1-3 years experience in testing, quality inspection, manufacturing
- Experience with electrical components, circuits, transformers desired.
