Internship Program Overview:
Our Interns & Co-ops are our entry-level talent pipeline for GF across the globe. Summary of Role:
The Physical Analysis (PA) lab is looking for a 2025 summer intern to work on a data processing program as part of our continuous improvement efforts. The software will use raw instrument data as input and output processed data into a reportable format, complete with tabulated results and graphs. The intern will be guided by GF technical team and management, learn the lab process flow, and gain valuable semiconductor industry experience. The ideal candidate will have the necessary programming skills to complete the task. A background in materials science, physics, chemistry, or related engineering fields is desirable.
Essential Responsibilities include:
- Software development
- Lab process flow
- Processing of data
- Report preparation
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Required Qualifications:
- Education – Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
- Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
- Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
- No Travel
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior related internship or co-op experience
- Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
- Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong planning & organizational skills
- Microsoft Office suite
- Java, C , Oracle SQL
