Raytheon is seeking a talented System Security Engineering (SSE) – P3 candidate. This person will also serve as a direct interface during important reviews, briefings, and technical exchange/demos. Communication and collaboration with the customer as well as with other engineering disciplines is required to ensure the program-level chief engineers and architectures support the program's needs. The person in this role will lead the analysis of issues that directly affect the system. The successful candidate will have a security conscious approach to take into consideration the systems level effect to resolving complex programs and the ability to convince leadership that the proposed solution is best for the mission (including program cost, schedule, and technical). The individual will work with the program and customer in the development of the system, providing strategic input and planning for the system, applications, architecture, and design in a dynamic, agile development environment. This is an onsite position at Raytheon in Fullerton, CA.
What You Will Do
Linux Bash scripting and Python scripting to harden systems.
Supporting the development of cybersecurity requirements, design and architecture artifacts, plans, and policies.
Creating patch disks, running integration tests, conducting Nessus and STIG (RADIX, Evaluate-STIG) scans, assessing vulnerabilities, creating vulnerability reports.
Defining security development and test efforts implementation of security controls of networking devices, databases, operating systems, and hardware and software component.
Understanding and integrating cybersecurity development activities.
Supporting the development of Risk Management Framework (RMF) documents and controls validation testing for Authority to Operate (ATO) accreditations
Conducting cybersecurity audits to ensure appropriate implementation and compliance of the security posture.
Conducting technical and nontechnical trade studies
Understanding, and compliance with, DoD technology release and export licensing policies
Interacting with customer to define SSE requirements, solutions, trades, costs, implementation, system impacts, and effectiveness
Supporting developing plans and estimates, task execution, project tracking, reporting, and risk identification and mitigation plans
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of prior relevant experience
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Experience in Systems Engineering, including any of the following: System Requirements definition and analysis, System Test and Analysis, Systems Engineering Studies, NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)
Experience or training in systems security including but not limited to various computer hardware and software S/W operating system and application solutions in both a stand-alone and in LAN/WAN configurations and / or Security features and/or vulnerability analysis of various operating systems as defined by Intelligence agencies
Experience or training in generating security requirements, design and architecture artifacts, plans, and/or policies
Qualifications We Prefer
Program management experience
Experience in design, development and fielding of SSE systems
Experience in the implementation and business growth of SSE implementation throughout the entire life cycle
Experience in solutions meeting robust SSE systems security requirements
DoDI 8570.01-M IAT Level-II Compliant Certification (e.g. Security , CISSP, or equivalent)
Strategic planning and proposal writing skills
Candidate must exhibit an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with coworkers, suppliers, stakeholders, and customers in a team environment
Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to technical problems.
