Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Aerial Lineman to join our team. As an Aerial Lineman, you will be responsible for installing and repairing aerial telecommunications cables. This involves safely using hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more. You will also operate mechanized equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, and more. Your role will require you to work at heights, climb telephone poles, and perform all duties in telecommunications construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and repair aerial telecommunications cables
- Safely use hand tools and equipment
- Operate mechanized equipment
- Work at heights, climb telephone poles, and perform all duties in telecommunications construction
- Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all OSHA, state, city/municipality safety requirements and training provided by the company
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be authorized to work in the United States for this company
- Pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
- Have a valid standard Driver's License or Class A Commercial Driver's License
- Have previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry
- Knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques
- Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance
- Ability to work over-time; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or on-call
- Maintain a safe work environment
- Work in all weather conditions
- Travel when travel is required
- May have experience splicing of active & passive equipment
