Summary
Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, The Quality Manager will oversee the implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of Globe’s quality program. Responsible for managing a staff of quality control technicians and all company-wide quality policies, procedures, processes, programs and practices to assure that the company is in conformance to internal and customer-defined standards.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage the implementation of the QA program across all departments and functions in compliance with ISO 9001:2015, including quality policy, contract review, project execution, document control, process control, procurement, inspection procedures, corrective action plans, and quality system records
- Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation by conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures
- Coordinate with operations and engineering to ensure systems, processes and procedures are created and implemented to meet customer expectations for product quality and delivery
- Prepare quality documentation and reports using statistical process control methods
- Maintain and improve product quality by conducting audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other departments to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods, and participating in continuous improvement activities
- Manage the department’s human resources including hiring, training, scheduling, disciplining and evaluating employees
- Meet quality assurance financial objectives by estimating requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions and reporting cost of Quality
- Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality control standards.
- Manage records retention process.
- Provide mentoring and leadership throughout the organization to improve the ownership of total quality across all employees.
- Perform, document and analyze measurements and data to ensure compliance to specifications
- Complete in-process quality checks and final part releases
- Schedule staff to ensure timely completion of quality control checks
- Strong problem solving skills using methods such as 8-D, as well as familiarity with AIAG requirements including PPAP, PFMEA, APQP, SPC and MSA
- Bachelor’s degree required. Engineering preferred
- At least 5 years of experience in a design and production environment with an emphasis on quality evaluation and control methods and procedures
- Proven experience with ISO QA standards
- Previous experience with lean manufacturing activities is preferred
- ISO Internal Auditor certified
- Experience with source inspection for government or military contracts preferred.
- Instron-type testing equipment experience highly desirable
- Must be eligible to obtain a DoD security clearance.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Constantly communicating with others to exchange information.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
