Job Summary
The Operations Specialist is responsible for assisting VP of Operations in all areas/functions of business operations. Tasked with managing multiple departments, staff and projects within the company and industry. This means having extensive knowledge in manufacturing and finance while understanding and striving to meet the company’s strategic goals, mission, values and beliefs.
This function also includes job costing, job closing and variance recognition, reporting and analysis; as well as supporting forecasting, budgeting and business analysis at the manufacturing level. This position is the central point of contact between the plants and senior management for financial and other administrative matters.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in leading departments and operations of the Company
- Assist with overseeing day-to-day company operations
- Manage performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and propose solutions
- Maintain a working knowledge of all phases of operations
- Assist with inventory management control issues
- Core team member of the operations team
- Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of daily, weekly, monthly performance reporting requirements
- Support planning and analysis activities
- Oversee cost accounting function ensuring that job costing, machines rates and job close-out and variance recognition processes are properly developed and reflected in the ERP system
- Ensure that manufacturing variances are properly identified, classified, and analyzed. Work with operations management to provide insight as to the nature of variances and operational improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with plant management and other departments to discuss issues, policy interpretations, cost distributions and saving initiatives along with inventory controls/results
- Analyze current inventory levels and trends to develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory, ensuring a balance between supply and demand
- Directly communicate with plant and operations management
- Tackling unforeseen issues and troubleshooting
Qualifications:
- Manufacturing Cost Accounting 3-5 years preferred and/or
- Manufacturing Inventory Management 3-5 years preferred
- Thorough understanding of typical material transactions such as kitting, receiving and cycle counts
- Knowledge of assembly and manufacturing process preferred
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing preferred
- EPICOR experience required
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must possess excellent attention to detail
- Work environment includes regular exposure to manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety shoes
- Ability to travel if/when required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
