This process will involve extensive partnership with Cost Accounting, Manufacturing, Sales Leadership, and Operations on a global level
- Present to Finance leadership (SVP, Sr. Director and Director) the causes of scrap, and initial evaluations of where there is waste that can be managed down
- Partner with the business to evaluate potential paths to reducing scrap (e.g., revised controls on scrap counting or other accountability for physical goods, increased re-work instead of outright scrap)
- Measure outcomes of changes in scrap process to demonstrate increases in financial performance, and operational execution
- Leverage experience gained in initial long-term scrap project to evaluate other areas of the P&L where similar process or control gaps may be leading to financial inefficiencies, and continue to impact the business through directed and targeted project-based work with measurable outcomes and real financial impact
