What are the responsibilities and job description for the Portfolio Analytics Associate position at Glocap?
The Analyst / Associate is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Firms portfolio company data, reporting and analyses to support decision making across deal teams, portfolio support, finance, and LP relations. The candidate will lead the portfolio valuation and analytics for the firm to routinely aggregate portfolio company metrics and maintain the analytics system with all portfolio company data, develop reports and integrated analyses, update presentations, assist in coordination of quarterly portfolio company valuation processes and support the investment team with follow through due diligence on new deals and analysis for follow on and Fund of Fund investments.
- Prepare and update individual portfolio company valuation analyses on a quarterly basis, incorporating an understanding of the relevant supporting accounting valuation methodologies and approaches.
- Interface with portfolio company management teams to gather and analyze monthly and quarterly portfolio company performance. Provide analytical and qualitative support for fundraising, valuations, portfolio company metrics, sale valuation analyses. Provide portfolio support to individual companies where relevant.
- Maintain and improve the integrity of all portfolio and individual company metrics, not just driving reporting but more importantly providing actionable insight to the investment team including Portfolio Reviews, risk analysis and expected fund outcomes.
- Review transaction legal documents to understand respective portfolio company capital structures
- Execute monthly/quarterly reviews on portfolio company performance (financial performance, scenario analysis…).
- Analyze trends across the portfolio and provide analytical and qualitative support for performance/benchmarks, valuations, and fund/aggregate analyses.
- Analyze investment performance and communicate results to Limited Partner and respond to quarterly/ad-hoc requests; draft quarterly/annual investment updates and portfolio company write-ups for communication to investors.
Qualifications
- BS or BA with a high GPA in Finance, Economics, or a related major
- 1-5 years professional experience in an analytical role, including experience with financial models and presentation creation
- Solid grasp of investments, M&A transactions, and private company valuations
- Exceptional analytical, Excel (pivot tables, etc.), financial modeling, valuation, and communication skills - High level of maturity and the ability to work as part of a team, coordinating between different functional areas of the firm
- Strong work ethic and desire to take initiative and ownership.
