We are seeking a Residential and Commercial Inspector to join our team in Gloucester County, VA. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections of residential and commercial buildings to ensure compliance with local codes and regulations.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of building codes and regulations, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with at least 5 years of experience in the building trades.
The Combination Inspector will be responsible for performing technical and skilled inspection work in areas of expertise of the building, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings and structures during various stages of construction, alteration, renovation and/or repair.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of residential and commercial buildings to ensure compliance with local codes and regulations
- Perform technical and skilled inspection work in areas of expertise of the building, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Develop and implement plans to improve code compliance throughout the county
- Provide education and training to builders and homeowners on code compliance issues
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 5 years of experience in the building trades
