The GHS Medical Assisting teacher will develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with state frameworks and industry standards, preparing students for careers in a variety of health-related fields. The Medical Assisting teacher will teach and train high school students to assist doctors and nurses in providing care to their patients including: recording and updating medical histories and contact information in patient files, scheduling patient appointments and performing standard care procedures like drawing blood, checking vitals or collecting lab samples. Essential employability skills will be integrated throughout the instruction for entry-level medical assisting positions.
