Summary
The Assistant Manager- Production Procurement collaborates with management in the logistics procurement of goods and services in the US East Coast subsidiaries in Alabama & Georgia, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition and maintaining the highest quality standards. The Assistant Manager will support the procurement of logistic products and services using the subsidiary's combined purchasing power to apply economies of scale, improving supplier management, cross-functional collaboration, cost savings, and continuous improvements.
Responsibilities
- Overall Procurement Activities
- Assisting in establishing a comprehensive procurement strategy for the East Coast subsidiaries, including automotive parts transportation, C/C, shuttle transportation, etc.
- Contribute to the creation of standard transportation costs for production logistics
- Assisting in the development and implementation of procurement processes for automotive parts transportation, warehousing, outsourcing consolidation center, shuttle transportation, material handling, and logistics-related equipment, labor, etc.
- Aid in the creation of long-term procurement strategies for vendor outsourcing and services
- Managing the potential automotive logistics vendor pool and standardizing all subsidiaries' processes
- Supporting overall RFX processes, cost management, contract management, vendor management, and evaluation
- Assisting in supporting sales activities of each subsidiary through obtaining quotations from vendors
- Collaborating with management on the unique and specific procurement requirements of subsidiary logistics
- Assisting in establishing a standard cost management system for each subsidiary and securing unit price competitiveness
- Responsible for the management of the GPMS in East Coast procurement activities. (GPMS: Glovis Procurement Management System)
- Procurement Status Management
- Assisting in compiling and aggregating logistics service contract schedules of each East Coast subsidiary
- Supporting the management of inbound/outbound trucking contract AP costs of each subsidiary regularly
- Reporting the procurement status of each subsidiary to the manager regularly
- In charge of the reporting of market and supplier research results to the appropriate leadership regularly
- Supporting the development of procurement plans and spend analysis for each subsidiary

- Market Analysis: Research and analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry best practices to inform procurement decisions
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures governing procurement activities
- Data Analysis and Reporting
- Generate reports and analyze procurement data to provide insights, monitor performance, and support decision-making
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, legal, and other teams

Qualifications
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong analytics skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions Required
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools, MS Office Suite, and database management Required
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills Required
- Knowledge of the United States logistics and transportation industry Preferred
- Proved experience with planning and strategy in a large international corporation Preferred
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders Preferred
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and best practices in procurement and supply chain management Preferred

- Thorough understanding of sourcing and procurement methodologies: including spend analysis, supplier screening, benchmarking, clean-sheet costing, negotiations, supplier performance management, scorecards, contracting, and cost-savings Preferred
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Master's Degree Preferred
- 6 - 9 Years of Direct Experience in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, and/or Logistics Required
- 7 - 11 Years of Direct Experience in Logistics Procurement and Transportation Procurement Preferred
- Logistics Procurement and/or Transportation Procurement Experience Preferred
- 1 - 3 Years of Supervisory Experience Required
- 4 - 7 Years of Supervisory Experience Preferred
- CPSM, CPIM, CPL, or PMI license or certificate Preferred
