Summary
The Operations Manager for Savannah Vehicle Processing Center (VPC) at Glovis America oversees and manages all aspects of vehicle processing and shipment operations to fulfill contractual obligations with customer sales divisions. This role includes managing relationships with contracted vendors, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and standards, and providing daily operational reports to upper management and stakeholders.
Compensation
$94k-$105k/ Year (Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)
Responsibilities
- Contractual Compliance and Vendor Management
- Ensure adherence to contracts between Glovis America and its vendors
- Provide daily operational direction to contracted vendors
- Reporting and Communication
- Generate and submit daily operational reports to upper management and stakeholders
- Maintain frequent communication with the local rail provider and Class 1 railroads
- Provide accurate forecasts to ensure empty railcar demand is met
- Rail and Truck Operations
- Oversee the rail switching crew to ensure railcars are switched and spotted for loading per AAR standards
- Manage the local vehicle logistics staff responsible for truck away operations
- Performance and Improvement
- Perform analyses to ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) are met
- Implement continuous process improvements in all areas of responsibility
- Systems and Safety
- Utilize internal systems for vehicle logistics management, including SAP
- Ensure strict enforcement of all safety protocols and standards
- Facility Maintenance
- Ensure the facility is maintained and report issues to upper management immediately
- Provide a safe and secure working environment
- Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by management
- Provide training to subordinates

Qualifications
Skills

- Above average analytical and communication skills Required
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles Required
- Experience in Vehicle Logistics Preferred
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Master's Degree Preferred
- 7-10 years of experience in Manufacturing or Logistics Required
- 8-11 years of experience in Automotive Vehicle Logistics Preferred
