Summary
The Senior Manager, Operations is responsible for all Port Hueneme VPC activities directly related to vehicle processing operations and facility maintenance. This position will oversee all activities between distributors, export accounts, and GLOVIS America headquarters while ensuring efficient VPC operations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee Vehicle Processing
- Oversees all activities directly related to vehicle processing
- Reviews daily and monthly forecasts and makes recommendations for the efficient utilization of resources
- Monitor/Evaluate quality of all processes and procedures of VPC Operations in which this position is assigned
- Daily, on-site management of operations
- Frequent and effective communication with direct reports, as well as, members of the VPC management team
- Daily and monthly departmental goals for processing, efficiency, safety, etc.
- All operations directions that may be communicated from the General Manager
- Daily communications and collaboration with the management team to ensure synergy exists between all departments at the VPC
- Oversee resolution of issues
- Monitors process quality issues at all phases of vehicle processing
- Responds to inquiries from all customers including KMA, HMA, GM, Honda and distributors, as well as GLOVIS National Ops
- Improve Departmental process and safety audits
- Conduct safety audits at appropriate intervals
- Provide direction to their direct reports to successfully meet tender goal and perform safety audits and report the results back to the General Manager
- Develop process improvement initiatives
- Develops and oversees strategies for the implementation of continuous process improvement activities
- Creates and changes departmental processes for continuous process improvement activities
- Create and submit recommendations for changes to the General Manager
- VPC Budget & Finance Management
- Manages budgets and analyzes trends in labor and other direct costs associated with vehicle processing operations
- Other duties as assigned
Compensation Range
$118,000- $134,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

Qualifications
Skills
- Proficient with PC skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and database management systems Required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills Required
- Multi-task oriented and able to work with minimal supervision Required
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. Required
- 8 - 12 years of experience in Logistics or Operations Required
- 10 - 15 years of experience in Vehicle Logistics or Vehicle Processing Preferred
- Must hold an active and valid Driver's License
