Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterilization Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and sterile environment for our dental practice. The Sterilization Technician will ensure that all instruments and materials are properly cleaned, sterilized, and prepared for use in patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of dental instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards and safety regulations.
- Monitor sterilization processes and maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles.
- Assist in the preparation of treatment rooms for procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments are available and sterile.
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure efficient workflow and patient safety.
- Maintain inventory of sterilization supplies and report any shortages or equipment malfunctions.
- Adhere to proper waste disposal procedures for hazardous materials.
Requirements
- Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures is essential.
- Experience as a dental receptionist or in pediatric dentistry is a plus.
- Knowledge of sterilization software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous.
- Understanding of medical imaging, medical coding, and X-Ray procedures is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism.
