Job Summary:
The Personal Care Aide is an employee who provides certain services to help maintain and strengthen a resident’s independence and dignity in a family life atmosphere, and who safeguards the living environment that may be disrupted by illness, social maladjustment or other situations that may develop. The Personal Care Aide helps the resident to regain abilities that are temporally impaired or to adjust to permanent disabilities. The Personal Care Aide is responsible to the Administrator or designee.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a High School Diploma/ GED equivalent
- Effective leadership, management and delegating skills.
- Have the ability to understand and speak English at a level which allows the safe, efficient performance of the job.
- Experience in group or residential settings (preferred but not required)
- Able to lift, push and pull, 20-100 pounds to fulfill the job requirements
- At least 18 years of age
Ability and willingness to work stated times including flexible hours.
Interest in and caring attitude toward the residents.
Physically able to perform direct care functions as may be required.
Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and outgoing.
Effective communication skills with all levels of management, staff, residents, guests, consultants, and volunteers.
Demonstrates a working knowledge of Personal Care Regulations or willingness to learn.
