Responsibilities
About the Accounting Manager - Close and Consolidations:
The Accounting Manager - Close & Consolidations is responsible for the daily direction and development of departmental personnel, integrity of general ledger reporting and involvement in monthly closing activities. The Accounting Manager - Close & Consolidations is also a point of contact for internal departments, external parties and auditors.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead and manage the activities of Close & Consolidations team members
- Support internal management reporting, SEC reporting and quarterly/ year-end audits
- Prepare / review reporting to ensure accuracy and integrity
- Provide guidance on the operation of various general ledger systems and monitor and resolve system issues
- Make recommendations and implement process and procedure improvements
- Manage and develop team members by establishing annual performance goals and assessing annual performance
- Provide analytical support as requested to Financial Reporting, Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis, and other business groups
- Complete special projects and participate in system testing as needed
Qualifications

- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Working knowledge/understanding of financial statements
- Working knowledge of the Accounting Standards Codification
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Working knowledge of account reconciliations
- Ability to effectively lead, coach and mentor team members
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Perform analysis on monthly financial statements and also on complex transactions
- Advanced software applications (eg Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, internet, email)
- Advanced skills in creating ad hoc queries and reporting
- Experience with financial reporting tools and database query tools
Experience
- 3-5 years at a supervisory level required
- Greater than 10 years of relevant experience preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
Licenses
- CPA preferred
