Responsibilities
About the role:
The VP Enterprise Resilience - Technology Resilience is responsible for advancing the design, development and implementation of an effective disaster recovery solution required to recover critical IT systems, applications, data and business processes. This is accomplished through development, maintenance and execution of the Company's Disaster Recovery Program. This position is additionally responsible for leading Enterprise Resiliency organization team members.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with the EVP Global CISO and SVP Enterprise Resilience
- Design, develop and implement an effective Information Technology (IT) and Telecommunications Disaster Recovery Plan to recover critical IT systems, applications, data and business processes
- Experience with both cloud and on-premises IT environments
- Experience with both cloud and on-premises recovery solutions
- Conduct risk assessments and Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to determine: threats, vulnerabilities, impacts of disruption to IT infrastructure, business operations and telecommunications
- Use risk assessments and BIA to perform analysis of recovery time frames, priorities and resource requirements
- Through collaboration with a multi-stakeholder group: identify, evaluate and select high availability and disaster recovery solutions suitable for defining and meeting Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO)
- Through collaboration with a multi-stakeholder group lead the selection, procurement and management of the implementation of appropriate recovery sites
- Establish governance and oversight related to critical data backup and storage, retrieval, and management requirements
- Define and provide oversight for effective Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and contracts with vendors, suppliers and service providers for facilities, data and resources
- Assemble a knowledgeable and effective cross-functional team, and assign appropriate pre-disaster, disaster, and post-disaster tasks and responsibilities
- Develop and implement Disaster Recovery Plan, Emergency Response Plan, Crisis Management Plan and a Business Continuity Plan with a particular focus on how these plans integrate
- Provide governance and oversight for changes to the Disaster Recovery Plan
- Represent Enterprise Resilience at meetings to discuss issues as needed
- Define Enterprise Resilience requirements for all projects and company wide initiatives including communication of project information to leadership level stakeholders
- Delegate responsibilities to staff when appropriate
- Mentor and develop staff within the Enterprise Resilience organization, perform evaluations of staff, as well as take corrective actions when necessary
- Oversee the recruitment and career development for the Enterprise Resilience staff
- Perform annual salary evaluations of the Enterprise Resilience staff
- Implement the governance and oversight structure for the development and review of corporate policies, procedures, standards and guidelines relating to Disaster Recovery
- Build effective working relationships within GM Financial in order to accomplish organizational and corporate objectives
- Respond to audit and regulatory inquiries, collaborate within Enterprise Resilience to gather necessary documentation, and track
- remediation of findings
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Conform with all company policies and procedures
Qualifications
What makse you a dream candidate?
- Must have expert knowledge of Disaster Recovery within high availability (ie ISO 22301, NFPA 1600, ITIL v4, NIST, etc)
- Must have working knowledge of financial institution frameworks (ieCFPB, FFIEC, etc)
- Demonstrate knowledge regarding best practices in disaster recovery governance and regulatory landscape for financial
- institutions
- Demonstrate expert knowledge regarding systems, application and network resiliency/high availability
- Ability to effectively lead, organize and supervise
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and analytical skills
- Advanced technological skills and expertise in information technology issues is expected
Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience is required
- Master’s Degree (or other advanced degree) preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of combined experience in disaster recovery and information technology/information security required
- Organizational leadership experience required
- Professional certification(s) in the field ofInformation Technology or Disaster Recovery (for example DRCS, CBRITP, CBRM, CBCP, A , or CISSP) preferred
- Up to 20% travel required (Domestic and International)
