What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Instructor position at GMF Steel?
The Technical Instructor will be based at GMF’s Headquarters in Lakeland, FL. The primary responsibility of the Instructor is to effectively lead the Apprenticeship and Welding programs in conjunction with the Talent Development Manager. This individual should foster an engaging learning environment, uphold a suitable balance of discipline, and impart knowledge to students. The Instructor must demonstrate reliability, responsibility, independence, and initiative.
Responsibilities:
- Educate and train students to develop their skills as a proficient journeyman and welder
- Provide administrative support for course logistics such as scheduling and curriculum development
- Meet established goals related to student performance
- Work with the Talent Development Manager to coordinate the maintenance of student performance profiles, other audit records, and attendance records
- Maintain a safe instructional environment
- Ensure the completion of documentation, maintain records, and provide assistance in monitoring essential data components, including industry-recognized certifications
- Access computer databases to review student test scores, complete lesson plans, and log attendance records
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred
- 5 years of teaching or training experience
- 5 years of welding experience
- Bilingual, preferred
Salary:
- $65,000 - $75,000/year plus performance bonuses
- Dependent upon experience
