Position Overview
We are seeking two BICSI-certified OSP/ISP Technicians to support a major infrastructure relocation project at WRNMMC. This role involves patching, tracing cables, and moving infrastructure assets from one building to another in support of a large-scale office relocation effort. Candidates must have hands-on experience in structured cabling, network infrastructure installation, and compliance with OSP/ISP industry standards.
This position requires on-site work only (no telework allowed per current regulations).
Key Responsibilities
- Install, test, and troubleshoot structured cabling infrastructure for data and telecommunications systems.
- Perform cable patching and tracing in coordination with IT and network teams.
- Move and relocate network equipment, service lines, and infrastructure assets between buildings.
- Ensure all installations comply with BICSI and industry best practices.
- Perform inspections, site assessments, and cable testing for quality assurance.
- Provide documentation and reports on installation and troubleshooting activities.
- Collaborate with contractors, utility providers, and project stakeholders to ensure smooth transition of infrastructure.
- Adhere to all DoD security policies and compliance regulations for IT and physical infrastructure.
Minimum Qualifications
- BICSI Certification (Installer 1, Installer 2 Copper/Fiber, or Technician level) required.
- OSP/ISP experience (as outlined in the OSP/ISP technician standards).
- Experience in patching and tracing cables in a structured cabling environment.
- Ability to work on-site at WRNMMC during standard business hours (0700-1700, Monday to Friday).
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in environments requiring bending, stooping, and climbing ladders.
- Active or ability to obtain a DoD Public Trust clearance.
- Strong knowledge of network cabling standards, testing procedures, and troubleshooting methods.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in military healthcare or government facility projects.
- Familiarity with OSP/ISP standards for outside and inside plant telecommunications infrastructure.
- Knowledge of telecommunications design, fiber optics, and network integration.
- A Certification (Preferred).
Work Environment
- Work will be conducted on-site at WRNMMC—no remote work allowed.
- Standard schedule: Monday – Friday, 0700-1700 EST.
- Work may include occasional emergency service support or extended hours.
- Compliance with DoD security and clearance requirements is mandatory.
