Supervisor - This position reports to: Director of Operations
This position communicates closely with Senior Project Manager & Chief Estimator
Client Interaction – Direct contact with Client’s On-Site Team
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for handing in Daily job reports, Heavy job reporting, and tracking of all site paperwork, to include but not limited to Daily activity report, Change order tracking, Safety meeting paperwork, Truck tickets, AmEx reports, ETC. on a weekly basis.
- Maintain contact with Client to assure overall Project Schedule and needs are being met or exceeded. Client contact can be daily discussions and/or weekly Contractor meetings.
- Responsible for communicating with Project Manager daily, or as needed regarding the status of the scheduled activities. Identify any proposed changes to increase productivity and/or align with overall Project Schedule.
- Responsible for scheduling and accepting deliveries of material to the site, documenting quantity, any damage. and Proper coding of delivery ticket(s). The sole responsibility of the Site Foreman if a Superintendent is not assigned to your project..
- Review executed Contract with Project Manager, taking note of the scope of work, billing dates, reporting requirements (Toolbox Talks) etc.
- Review all design drawings, making notes or highlighting project specific details such as proposed grading elevations, required cut/fill quantities, infrastructure depths, paving sections, etc.
- Keep Scope of Work Worksheet up to date documenting contract line items installed on a weekly basis. This can be done either electronically or manually. At a minimum, track and highlight work installed on a hard copy of the current project drawing set kept on-site. Worksheets will be discussed with your Project Manager on a weekly basis.
- Manage Subcontractors, i.e., Surveyor, Concrete, Mason, Paver, etc. once onsite. Discuss timing of Subcontractors with Project Manager and schedule via e-mail / phone call. Issue Two-Week Look Ahead on a Weekly Basis to keep the Client, and Senior GMP Management aware of pending activities and support required in the coming week(s).
- Prepare and keep current a Two-Week Look Ahead Schedule, updated weekly. The first week should be compiled with an 80% certainty that the activities will be completed and the second week with a 50% certainty. This will allow for the intent of the schedule to be determined but still allow for weather and unforeseen adjustments.
- Attend Foremen meetings at the Office and be prepared to discuss with the attendees the overall status of the Project and your Two-Week Look Ahead Schedule. The goal of these meetings will be to discuss the status and direction of the Projects and identify the men and equipment moves for the coming two weeks.
- Responsible for the health and safety of all personnel on site, including the client, subcontractors, and suppliers. Project site is to be maintained daily including protection at an open excavations, overhead obstructions, or adjacent facilities.
- Maintains the On-site HASP Plan.
- Maintains safety of vehicles entering and exiting site onto any public right-away.
- Identifies unsafe conditions outside the scope of GMP’s contract to the client.
- Initiates all T&M and field directed C.O. paperwork on all jobs you are assigned.
- Maintain all projects assuring that they are manned properly through the interaction with the Director of Operations.
- Anticipate being responsible and having knowledgeable about multiple projects and attendance of project meetings.
- Maintain consistent communication with everyone in the company.
- On board with Superintendent and or PM the full scope of each project.
- Participate in Managing subcontractors on assigned projects including scheduling and change orders.
- Works with PM on managing P.O.’s on all assigned projects including scheduling material deliveries and change orders.
- Maintains hard copy on site of the up-to-date drawing set including mark ups of work completed on a consistent basis (daily/weekly as project allows).
- Participate in mark out and schedule along with coordination with PM (to be assigned) in the office.
General Skills / Requirements of this position:
Decision-making: Site Foreman must make independent decisions daily, addressing the best way to handle specific tasks.
Communications and collaboration: Site Foreman must collaborate with on-site Superintendent and Laborers, peers, management, and clients on a regular basis.
Organizational skills: Organization, time management and prioritization are the core elements of the Site Foreman’s responsibilities. You must know how to keep yourself, your support staff, subcontractors along with material suppliers organized and how to determine which tasks are the most important.
Writing: Spelling, proofreading, punctuation, sentence structure and writing are required skills for writing reports, tickets, etc...
Computer/Software Systems:
- Needs to learn Heavy Job/HCSS
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools including – Outlook, Word, Excel, along with OneNote and OneDrive for Business.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
