What are the responsibilities and job description for the FT Delivery Driver position at GMR Express Inc?
GMR Express INC is looking for drivers for our driving position at our Davenport location. We are looking for a reliable Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate is comfortable driving long distances, has a clean driver's license, and is passionate about customer service. A successful Delivery Driver will be responsible for picking up packages at our facility, making a delivery to the destination address, and returning to the office at the end of the day.
A company Delivery Truck and fuel card will be provided.
The Job will be Following a GPS route delivering packages to the proper location, commercial and residential.
The schedule is Mon-Sun working 5 days a week beginning at 8 AM with a half-hour lunch. You will have 2 days off, scheduled at random.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $140/ day *Because it is peak season during the holidays, there may be an additional bonus that you may qualify for.
Schedule:
- Begin loading the truck at 7 AM and leave the facility at 10 AM.
- The remaining time will be spent delivering packages to commercial and residential locations.
Responsibilities:
- Understand city streets and how to get from one place to another.
- Know how to drive a vehicle.
- Be able to drive on the highway.
- Have basic knowledge of a mobile mapping application.
- Know how to learn from mistakes.
- Be able to make split-second decisions.
- Know how to get in touch with the customer service department when necessary.
Skills and Qualifications
- A valid driver’s license, and in some cases a commercial driver’s license
- Knowledge of how to handle materials safely, such as food or chemicals
- Familiarity with using navigation systems
- Time management to ensure deliveries are made on schedule
- Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination to stay safe while driving
- Physical ability to load and unload heavy cargo
A background check is required.
