What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabricator position at GMR Marketing?
As a Fabricator with GMR, you will be involved in the fabrication of event activation, trade show, museum, and special event properties. Your skills as a Finish Carpenter, Welder, Painter, Cabinet Builder or Display Builder will be welcomed, supported, and embraced in an environment that is defined by high quality standards and everchanging unique fabrication challenges.
You should have a broad understanding of fabrication and be able to learn the more intricate parts of exhibit fabrication with on-the-job training. Our Fabricators have a high level of initiative, confidence to work independently or with a team in support of project goals and maintain a positive team-oriented attitude. REQUIRED SKILLS
- Assembly & Installation. Attach parts and subassemblies together to form completed units using glue, dowels, nails, screws and/or clamps, etc. Install hardware such as hinges, handles, catches, drawers, pulls, slides and more.
- Fabrication & Building Expertise. Weld parts and subassemblies together to form completed units. Build, repair, install items such as cabinets, laminate, shelving, wall panels and backwalls.
- Measurement & Power Tool Experience. Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, aluminum, steel, or other materials. Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints, and diagrams along with basic knowledge of math, measurements, and reading a tape measure. Safely operate a variety of wood/metal working machines and hand power tools. Layout and assemble wood and metal components.
- Travel & Overtime. If you enjoy traveling, you will have the option to go on short duration trips to various domestic locations to supervise the installation and dismantle of display properties and events (if interested). At times, you will occasionally be required to work overtime and weekends in order to complete jobs with demanding deadlines.
