JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Field Operations Supervisor ensures operational excellence in the field and liaison between field and office teams, while maintaining rigorous control of GMR standards.
They manage the technical aspects of construction sites, schedules, budget, quality and occupational health and safety, and collaborate with product experts for installer training and procedure development.
From project initiation to final acceptance, they evaluate and approve technical solutions, manage daily challenges on site, and actively contribute to continuous process improvement.
As GMR's field representative, they are the essential link between installation partners, clients, and the office. Their ability to maintain exceptional and consistent client relationships, while ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders, directly contributes to project success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organize and oversee installation activities carried out primarily by subcontractors, while adhering to budget, schedule, and quality standards;
- Prepare and maintain daily reports and updated installer schedules on installation progress;
- Gather and validate technical project information, assist in preparing submission reports, establish specifications, installation plans, mandates, and installation schedules;
- Organize pre-installation meetings with subcontractors, clients, and construction sites;
- Handle technical service calls within standard timeframes while providing excellent client communication;
- Act as secondary technical point of contact between sales representatives and/or clients for activity follow-up or technical problem resolution;
- Monitor subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, quality standards, and technical project specifications;
- Provide on-site and remote training on technical aspects of products and services;
- Coordinate installer training and technical support;
- Source qualified installers;
- Work collaboratively with engineering, development, and quality teams to mitigate and correct system issues and actively participate in identifying and implementing preventive and corrective actions;
- Supervise and ensure smooth operation of on-site installation activities primarily in the United States according to a turnover schedule.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILL
- College diploma or equivalent training combined with relevant experience;
- Minimum of five (5) years of technical support experience;
- Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems;
- Customer-oriented approach;
- Strong technical analytical mindset;
- Organized, detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects;
- Recognized for leadership in collaboration and communication;
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team;
- Excellent ability to communicate effectively (in English) with team members in a complex and fast-paced project environment;
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Knowledge of SolidWorks software is an asset.
