JOB SUMMARY
- GMRE is currently recruiting for an Electrical Aircraft Technician (2 positions available). This position is day shift and is eligible for per-diem based on GSA.gov standards while traveling. Candidates will travel approximately 50% between Ogden, UT and Oklahoma City, OK. Candidate must live in one of the two home cities and will be paid per diem while traveling.
- The Electrical Aircraft Technician will perform maintenance and modifications on assigned aircraft using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and other test support equipment.
- Operationally checks all systems, sub-systems, and associated line replaceable unit (LRU) removal and installation.
- Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshoots, inspects, removes, installs, repairs, modifies, overhauls, and operates aircraft electrical systems, components, and associated support equipment.
- Recommends methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance.
- Knowledge is mandatory of electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles relating to electrical systems, concepts, and application of maintenance directives.
- Ability to interpret the meaning of symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
- Must have the ability to properly handle, use, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of five (5) years total electrical experience in aircraft maintenance as an electrician.
- Must have experience working with aircraft wiring, technicians will be installing Avionics system modifications by routing, terminating 10/100 and Gig Ethernet wiring, copper wires, primary power wires, Coaxial wires, shielded twisted pairs/triplets, and possibly triaxial wires/connectors.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a minimum of an active U.S. SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. SECRET clearance and be subject to a government security investigation.
- Driving or renting a car for company business is expected with some frequency. For insurance purposes, a valid driver’s license is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Normal color vision as defined in AFI 48-123.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
TRAVEL REQUIRED
- Approximately 50% travel between Ogden, UT and Oklahoma City, OK. Candidate must live in one of the two home cities and will be paid per diem while traveling. Optionally, if the candidate lives in OKC and wishes to only work during installs and does not wish to travel to Ogden in between installs to build kits, that can be arranged as well.
