Job Description
As an Accounting Specialist with GNB Global Inc., you will be responsible for performing various accounting tasks including but not limited to preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with financial reporting. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other departments and team members to improve and streamline accounting processes.
We are looking for someone with a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will also possess strong communication skills, as you will be in regular contact with various team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and record accurate journal entries in accordance with GAAP
- Performs month-end reconciliations of accounts and provides reasonable explanations and insightful analysis of the components of assigned accounts.
- Reconcile various accounts and investigate and resolve any discrepancies
- Sales and use tax filing (monthly, quarterly, and annually) posting, and compliance.
- AR billing and AR account reconciliation
- AP billing and AP account reconciliation
- Support, assists, and participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process and the yearly external audit process.
- Assist in the compilation and creation of monthly financial reports for Controller as required
- Assist in year-end physical inventory
- Assist with US Census Surveys
- Assist with US city business/contractor licenses
- Preparation of bi-weekly timesheets for payroll, certified payroll and payroll processing
- Other job duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting – Cost /manufacturing accounting background or experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of US GAAP, financial statements, and accounting principles.
- Advanced skills in Excel desirable
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to details
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Positive attitude and good work ethics
- Ability to identify and resolve moderately complex issues
- Knowledge and experience of ERP/Financial system is a plus
- Execute responsibilities with a sense of urgency and follow-through.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Must be authorized to work in the US and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
