Project Manager - Construction

GNB Global Inc. is a manufacturing and construction services company specializing in engineered steel-framed, fabric tensioned buildings.

Project Managers are responsible for planning, organizing and directing the completion of GNB projects with the focus of completing them on time, on budget, in scope and following all safety practices and procedures. They supervise the Construction Managers and the Lead Hands. The Project Manager will oversee multiple projects at any given time.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Procure material for projects including design and engineering
• Apply for permitting for projects
• Schedule projects with anticipated targets for completion
• Adhere to contract deadlines though managing relationships with suppliers, site manager and coordinate GNB resources
• Allocate resources to complete projects including the organization and coordination of superintendents, lead hands and crews
• Make effective and efficient decisions when organizing and coordinating GNB projects that take into account timeline, cost and contract deadlines
• Ensure invoicing is complete at designated milestones
• Proactively identify, address and resolve issues/problems as or before they occur
• Ensure safety standards are maintained in all aspects of projects.
• Update Health and Safety Program for site specific projects
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• A combination of education or expertise in project management (college degree in engineering or project management) and or 3 years of relatable experience in project management in the construction field
• Experience in drafting/engineering or plan reading
• Supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of safety standard and the ability to implement and maintain standards
• Strong computer skills
• Reliable, punctual, honest, hardworking, organized, attention to detail, credible, and confident to carry out the requirements
• Highly organized with the ability to coordinate multiple jobs with ease
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic and a self-imposed desire to exceed everyday expectations
• Sound decision-making and creative problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• The ability to travel should the need arise both in Canada and the USA
• Valid Drivers License
• Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen. The majority of worksites require a drug and alcohol test to access the site.
