POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sales Associate is the first point of contact for all customers and a product expert. The Sales Associate is responsible for handling various sales activities in the store, including facilitating purchases, educating customers on various products, providing excellent customer service, and merchandising duties. The Sales Associate Sales Associate will work to ensure that store presentation is maintained, product is stocked and merchandised, and operational projects/tasks are completed, so that a great shopping experience can be provided to customers.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proactively greets and welcomes every customer that visits GNC and creates a welcoming environment to attract new and existing customers.
- Responsible for interacting with customers to help them choose the right products, as well as making recommendations based on Sale Associates' overall product knowledge and understanding of their needs.
- Drive' GNC's loyalty programs and incentives for successful engagement of customers.
- Monitors sales targets and personal performance in order to meet or exceed expectations.
- Fulfills online orders timely and accurately in compliance with company guidelines.
- Boost product knowledge by learning the features, advantages and benefits. Staying on top of nutritional, wellness, and fitness news.
- Support store management in the opening, closing and operating of a retail store. This includes cash handling, inventory count and deposits, and maintaining store appearance.
- Receives, checks and shelves merchandise orders in accordance with planogram.
- Assists the Store Manager in confirming purchase orders and managing the store's inventory within GNC guidelines.
- Adhere to GNC's quality control program for stock rotation, overall cleanliness and replenishment duties.
- Adheres and implements visual merchandising best practices in line with GNC guidelines under the supervision of the store manager or the assistant store manager.
- Reads all merchandising bulletins in order to understand product assortment and answer product questions based on Company approved information.
- Performs all register operations.
- Completes store open/close functions and bank deposits according to GNC policies and procedures, and as required by the Store Manager.
- Completes all training materials and reads GNC newsletters and other information in a timely manner.
- Ensures company assets are protected and not exposed to risks and conflicts of interest.
- Additional duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITES:
- Follows established policies and procedures by monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and operational processes related to areas of responsibility and reporting violations or infractions to appropriate individuals.
- Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Company, property, and department policies, procedures, and standards by immediately reporting any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, employee/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to appropriate individuals.
- Identifies areas of improvement and offers suggestions to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity.
PHYSICAL ASPECTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly/Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually low/moderate.

- Minimum high school diploma required
- 1 year retail sales experience
- Fluent language skills required to speak, read, and understand customers and GNC communications
- Basic math skills to count, add, and subtract;
- Strong interpersonal and ethical behavior to manage the company's assets;
- Excellent customer service skills to develop a relationship-selling culture.
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work with and influence peers and customers
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail
- Ability to work overtime as necessary
- Available to work all shifts, as well as weekends and holidays
