GNH Lumber & Home, the leading building supply and home improvement center in the Catskills has an employment opportunity for a qualified and motivated individual who wants to be part of our growing sales team.
We are in the process of expanding our sales team and are seeking a motivated and experienced Outside Sales Representative to join our existing group. This role focuses on prospecting and acquiring new customers while also increasing sales to existing clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in outside sales, particularly in the construction or remodeling industries, and will thrive in a commission-driven environment.
To have success in this role you will have familiarity with the needs and challenges faced by small and mid-sized builders and have the willingness to be proactive suggesting solutions that GNH and our supplier partners can provide. He/She will look for opportunities to cross sell other GNH product/service offerings to deepen GNH’s relationship and increase share with customers. Having a strong customer service inclination will ensure a seamless transition into our customer focused sales team.

Responsibilities
· Prospect and pursue new business opportunities to acquire new customers.
· Increase sales and cross-sell building materials to existing customers.
· Spend approximately 85% of time on field sales activities, including cold calling and face-to-face meetings.
· Dedicate 10%-15% of time to in-store team meetings, one-on-ones, and training sessions.
· Build and cultivate a personal book of business.
· Learn and master the company's internal sales software.
Requirements
· 5-10 years of outside sales experience.
· Sales experience in the lumber industry or related fields such as construction, hardware, or building materials.
· An entrepreneurial spirit and a strong desire for building new relationships and consultative selling.
Nice-to-haves
· Experience selling to contractors.
· Familiarity with sales software and tools.

Salary : $60,000 - $100,000
