Who We Are and What We Do

GNS America was established in 2009. Our core business is in conventional stamping, hot stamping, welding, and assembly. Our tool and die capability offer simulation and full design and build activities.

Hot and Conventional Stamping

GNS offers a complete range of stamping equipment. Our stamping facilities can cater to any required automotive and industrial stamping requirements. In our automotive operations, we have a full range of stamping capabilities in the 100 ton to 800 ton range, in multiple locations. Our stamping capabilities span a variety of metals.

Laser Cutting

GNS is a recognized leader in the use of laser technologies, GNS utilizes multi-axis laser cutting technology. Our multi-axis lasers are used for both prototyping and our large volume production for the automotive industry. In addition to cutting flat metal, GNS provides trimming and hole piercing services for three-dimensional parts. Our lasers have the versatility to cut a variety of metals with varying thickness and degrees of complexity.

Welding

At GNS, we use spot welding in the welding of Ultra High Strength Steel and Press Hardening parts. Our welding and assembly cells are highly automated. We use automated robots to perform several of the most complex and precise operations inside the welding cells to achieve maximum cost reduction and ensure we produce the highest quality products for our customers.

Shift: 3rd Shift 10:00pm-6:00am

Position Summary:

Ensure the smooth flow of materials both raw & finished on the production floor. Operate forklift in a safe and careful manner. Observe all GNS safety rules, regulations and established procedures, including those established for forklift operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

· Operate forklift to transport a variety of parts and materials from one department to another, or from one work station to another.

· Ensure that loads are stacked properly for safe transportation, pick up load - holding load as closely to the ground as conditions permit - and position load safely and carefully at designated drop-off point.

·Check oil level, battery, and make other routine checks of vehicle daily. Change tanks of propane gas as required. Report any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.

·Perform other duties as assigned, including pulling and stocking parts, stock control, preparation for new work, dumping scrap, transporting dies, loading coils, removing unnecessary items from floor, etc.

·Position forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hook tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transport load to designated area.

·Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work process, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.

·Participate in continuous improvement and assist in its implementation on an ongoing basis.

· Keep work area clean and well organized in a 5S manner..

· Maintain safety standards in the workplace.

· Ensure Quality in the workplace.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED preferred

1 year of experience in driving Hi-Lo in a production environment

Forklift license is required.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge: Basic knowledge of quality control, cost reduction, materials and productions processes; Basic knowledge of press operation; English (grammar, language), Math.

Skills: Good communication skills.

Abilities: Ability to understand and follow oral or written instructions; Ability to accurately prepare documents, production sheets and other reports and related paperwork as required by our procedures; Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints; Ability to work independently and make independent decisions.

Training Requirements:

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

The characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Physical Demands: The position is in the factory and involves walking, standing for long periods of time throughout the day. It requires being able to lift up to 50 pounds, push and pull up to 75 pounds. Involve continuous or repetitive arm-hand movements while operating a machine. Stooping/bending/twisting is required on regular basis. Fast-paced environment, usually work standard 40-hour weeks, but overtime may be necessary as work load’s dictate. This may include weekdays, weekends and/or holidays.

Work Environments: Work performed in a shop environment and regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise. It requires wearing personal protective or safety equipment. Noise level is frequently loud (90 dbA). The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. Requires working in non-air-conditioned variable temperature factory setting. Employees may be subject to drug and alcohol testing (excluding THC), pre-employment physical and background checks.
