Nativa Cannabis is a tribally owned, vertically integrated cannabis enterprise that will offer a vast assortment of recreational cannabis products to legal consumers in Niagara Falls, New York. Summary of Position
The General Manager (GM) plays a crucial role in implementing Nativa’s business strategies. This involves overseeing various operational aspects and collaborating with Nativa’s Board of Directors to successfully initiate and expand a cannabis retail and cultivation enterprise in a fast-evolving industry.
The GM's responsibilities encompass project management to establish essential operational protocols and efficient workforce systems that facilitate a smooth business launch, organizational growth, and operational harmony. The GM's primary focus lies in achieving daily operational goals, emphasizing efficient cultivation practices, and ensuring top-notch product quality control. Close collaboration with the third-party business consulting team leading this project on behalf of Nativa is an integral part of the GM's role.
Essential Functions
- Actively engage in necessary project planning, encompassing various facets such as marketing strategy, budgeting, oversight of construction, selection and procurement of equipment, installation of systems, and development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), among other tasks essential for operational readiness.
- Collaborate closely with Nativa's Board of Directors and receive guidance from the business consulting team to devise strategies for establishing a successful cannabis operation.
- Implement a range of operational, marketing, and management strategies while adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Evaluate critical project needs, formulate strategic plans to address these needs, and execute these plans effectively.
- Oversee the installation of equipment and the initial operation of cannabis cultivation activities, covering tasks such as setup, genetic sourcing, propagation, production scheduling, plant care, harvesting, drying, and curing of initial crops.
- Assist in the implementation and enforcement of SOPs across all facets of the business, including cultivation, processing, packaging, product transportation, retail, and security.
- Be prepared for local and national travel as required, representing Nativa at vendor appointments, business conferences and meetings, and potentially engaging in public speaking engagements.
- Ensure the efficient execution of the enterprise's overall development, encompassing both the cannabis retail and cultivation establishments.
