What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital Marketing Coordinator position at GO Laurel Highlands?
The Digital Marketing Coordinator will act as support for the marketing department and be responsible for management of social media, digital advertising, consumer-facing programs and special projects. This staff member will provide additional support to the marketing department as needed.
Primary job functions:
- Create and implement social media content calendar highlighting seasonal campaigns.
- Manage and implement social media strategy, working with lead photographer/ videographer on all applicable platforms relating to GO LH and LH Pour Tour.
- Keep up with the latest trends in digital marketing and social media; uphold brand voice and style in all campaigns.
- Regularly visit partner sites and destinations within the region for producing content.
- Curate social media content using UGC software. Organize and maintain images and posts in the software to be used on the GO LH website.
- Design and write copy for digital ads and work with Senior Director of Marketing on data-driven placement. Send approved ads to appropriate media outlets. Monitor statistics and provide monthly and quarterly reports and insights.
- Maintain, cultivate, and approve events in the CRM three times per week; produce the seasonal events calendar quarterly.
- Work with Director of Partnership to fulfill partner advertising requirements and produce new partner posts.
- Foster relationships with external content creators and assist with onsite visits as needed.
- Assist the marketing department with various tasks as needed.
Essential requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required – Marketing, Graphic Design, Digital Communications, or related field.
- Expert-level knowledge of and experience with social media.
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and other creative design platforms.
- Ability to shoot and edit photos and video on smartphone or tablet.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Experience in managing social content and production in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of region’s tourism industry.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work cooperatively with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently, without supervision, as well as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and delivery.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Strongly desired, but not required:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Basic knowledge of CMS (content management systems) and CRM (database management).
Physical Requirements/Work Conditions:
- Ability to sit for moderate periods at desk/computer throughout the day.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds, bending, stooping and walking up and down stairs is required.
- Ability to work occasional extended hours and weekends.
- Travel could be required (maximum 20%).
- Ability to use a dolly.
Other:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Legally registered and insured vehicle; an annual driver record report may be required.
