GO Marine Services (GOMS) is a premier provider of catering personnel, Roustabouts and General Labor Services to the marine and oil and gas industries in the Gulf of Mexico and East Coast. Based in Lafayette Louisiana, GOMS understands how important qualified and competent service contractors are to our clients, and to the morale of an operation. GO Marine Services is currently enrolled in ISNet World and PEC. All training certifications and drug screen information available in ISNET, PEC or upon request.
All individuals are transported from our operations office in Lafayette via company vehicles driven by qualified individuals to ensure prompt and prepared arrival.
We are seeking an Offshore Cook to join our dedicated team! You will prepare, cook, and present meals.
Responsibilities:
- • Plan menu, take advantage of foods in season and locally available.• Maintain an adequate stock of provisions while remaining within budget.• Order all necessary galley provisions, maintain inventory.• Prepare meals in quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served.• Prepare meals from scratch (when possible) and maintain safe cooking temperatures (meats/food).• Maintain galley and dining areas in a clean and sanitary manner.• Potentially direct activities to another cook or galley hand in preparing and serving meals when required.• Ensure safe and accurate temperatures are maintained concerning refrigeration equipment.• Remain familiar with all equipment in galley.• Secure the galley during emergencies.• Assist in the loading and unloading of groceries.• Perform any other additional duties that may be required or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in cooking, culinary arts, or other related fields
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well in teams
