Job Description
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The Warehouse Associate will be responsible for generalized warehouse tasks at the McPherson’s Wald Family Foods’ facility. Wald Family Foods is the Worlds largest supplier of gluten free pizzas. Our pizzas are sold in grocery stores all across the United States and Canada. Our growing McPherson, KS location is looking for dedicated, hardworking individuals to join our team!
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or equivalent are preferred
• 0-2 Years’ warehouse experience
HOURS:
3rd Shift 9:30PM – 6AM, Monday-Friday with Saturday availability based on business need.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
• The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or couch.
• The employee must frequently be able to sit or stand for long periods.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds, with assistance as necessary.
• The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Employee must be free from communicable diseases.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Warehouse Associate will ensure smooth operation of generalized warehouse tasks and organization in the warehouse, including, but not limited to:
• Complete tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, picking, stocking, staging, and transportation of goods.
• Load and unload materials to and from designated storage area.
• Stack or pile materials, such as lumber, boards, or pallets.
• Using printer for printing labels.
• Labeling product boxes.
• Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
• Verify computations against physical count of stock.
• Maintains condition of work area (i.e. free of trash, product in correct location, etc.). Follows company safety policies and procedures and encourages other associates to do the same.
• May drive truck to pick up incoming stock or deliver materials to designated locations or operate pallet jack to complete tasks.
• Keeping work area neat and clean
• Conducting yourself in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The plant operates in a cold environment of 50 degrees Fahrenheit or below. The Warehouse General Labor Associate will be in an environment that is cold, wet, dry, and at times foggy. Personnel are encouraged to wear warm clothing underneath the Wald Family Foods provided gear.
