What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plastic Sheet Set-Up Operator position at Go McPherson Career Center?
Benchmark is looking to fill one for the 8AM-8PM shift and another to work 8PM to 8AM. The work is for 4 days per week and normally 8 hours of overtime.
Plastic Sheet Set-up ---This job involves setting up and operating a plastic ABS, HDPE, and HMPE sheet line. The sheet line is up to 60 inches wide and ½” thick.
SUMMARY:
Production job responsible for properly performing activities relative to efficiently operating the molding equipment, including setups, startups, and producing quality products.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs setups and startups on the machines.
- Ensures machines are running properly and efficiently to a quality product.
- Train apprentice operators to become self-sufficient.
- Performs troubleshooting to keep uninterrupted workflow.
- Removes finished products and prepares for final packaging and applies
appropriate label. - Packs and stacks products on skids.
- Completes pertinent paperwork.
- Ensures that the work area is kept clean and orderly.
- Follows all plant safety procedures in order to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains company attendance standards.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
