What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher position at Go Port?
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Dispatcher, you will work closely with our Greeter Team to provide efficient transportation for our cruise customers throughout the day. This position requires an understanding of transportation logistics to support the department's forecasting and planning goals. It is ideal for those who desire to work in a fast-paced, high-energy, and challenging environment. Shifts mainly consist of early mornings, weekends, and holidays when cruise travel is operational.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:
- Plan and optimize bus routes for all operations, ensuring efficient and timely transportation for guests. Book buses as needed, coordinating with transportation vendors.
- Ensure buses comply with contractual agreements and meet company standards.
- Cultivate positive relationships with transportation vendors, ensuring collaboration and accountability.
- Understand and manage supplier relationships, ensuring efficiency and accountability in the use of fleet and private vehicles.
- Oversee the transportation budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while meeting service standards.
- Collaborate with field operations staff on guest loading logistics to ensure operations run smoothly within a 45-minute window. Communicate frequently with the Greeter Team to coordinate guest movements.
- Address any transportation issues that arise, using critical thinking to resolve challenges quickly and effectively.
- Work collaboratively with the Greeter Team and other departments to ensure a seamless operation. Act as a communication liaison between drivers, the customer experience team, and other departments.
- Assist field operations teams with providing prompt responses and solutions to guest questions to ensure guests are satisfied with their transportation experience.
- Devise and implement ways to optimize procedures using logistical details and forecasting skills.
- Measure and report on key performance metrics as defined by management to ensure operational efficiency.
- Gain knowledge and experience in dispatching from both the field and office perspective for Port Canaveral and Airport operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- High degree of customer service acuity to assist in de-escalating client situations and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Strong organizational skills to develop and plan transportation manifests.

- History of thriving in a fast-paced environment and under pressure while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

REQUIREMENT & PREFERRENCES:
- BA/BS degree or relevant equivalent work experience preferred.
- One year of dispatch experience is preferred.
- Basic understanding of the geographical area surrounding the Go Port field operations sites.
- Proficient in the use of technology, including Google Suite applications and Microsoft Office products.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT:
- Regularly required to stand, squat, kneel, push, pull, and reach above and below shoulder level
- Regularly required to use hands for repetitive computer keyboard use, mouse use and to perform simple grasping
- May occasionally need to lift items weighing up to 30 pounds.
