Reporting to the Sr. Director of Student & Family Services, the Student and Family Services Senior Manager will support the implementation and development of all socio-emotional family and student programming as well as support services. The Student and Family Services Senior Manager is a member of a collaborative Program Leadership Team led by the Chief Program Officer. The team is responsible for the successful delivery of high quality GO School and GO Summer programming.

This is a full-time position including 22 Saturdays (between October – April) and periodic evenings for meetings and special events. During those weeks, the position is typically Tuesday-Saturday. When Saturday programs are not in session, the position is Monday-Friday.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Student and Family Support Leadership

  • Lead the Program Team’s work to drive strong and continuous student and family socio-emotional and support programming.
  • Compile and analyze data connected to GO’s socio-emotional programming for students and families.
  • Facilitate high quality family engagement programming including organizing workshops for caregivers through coordination with external partners and program staff.
  • Provide case management, resource referrals, educational advocacy for students and their families. This includes working with caregivers to assess their family needs and provide access to community resources.
  • Support the implementation of middle school and high school transition programming and services.
  • Review IEPs and teacher evaluations as part of the application review process.
  • Provide task supervision to a team of social work interns to support high quality programming.







Campus and Organizational Leadership

  • Serve as a campus operations leader on an interdisciplinary campus leadership team on Saturday mornings during the school year and throughout the summer. This includes designing and overseeing program implementation, opening and closing the campus, welcoming families and ensuring that all direct service staff have the materials and resources needed to provide programs for children and families.
  • Supervise a team of up to 4 part-time staff to support program engagement and operations on Saturdays and during the summer.
  • Establish innovative ways to create a welcoming environment for all students and families.
  • Engage in ongoing outreach to families to support enrollment and engagement.
  • Manage campus-level retention and engagement. This includes managing campus-level attendance tracking and attendance-related outreach.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or current enrollment in social work, school counseling, mental health counseling or psychology is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a youth development organization and/or school is required.
  • Enthusiasm to take a primary role in the operations and management of a GO Project campus.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging and motivating a team, leading to retention and clear outcomes for students.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, manage operations, and remain highly organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience and comfort in using online databases and tracking systems. This includes programs such as Microsoft Excel, Google forms, SalesForce, ParentSquare and Slack.
  • Experience building relationships with people representing diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Experience providing a strengths-based, systemic approach to programming for children with special learning or emotional needs.
  • Experience in navigating processes within the NYC Department of Education, including the special education process (IEPs) and school enrollment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated capacity to serve as a coach and mentor to students and staff.
  • Must be available for a five-week summer program (Monday-Friday) as well as 22 Saturdays from October-April (During this cycle, the work week is Tuesday-Saturday).
  • Fluency in Spanish, Mandarin or Cantonese is highly preferred, with experience translating written documents and strong spoken fluency.
  • SIFI certification is a plus.

Salary & Benefits

Salary range ($70,000 - $80,000) based on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance and long-term disability. GO Project provides four weeks annual paid vacation paid holidays. Retirement plan contribution match is in effect after one year.

Commitment

This is a full-time position including 22 Saturdays (between October –April) and occasional evenings for meetings and special events. On weeks with Saturday programming, the Senior Manager’s work week is typically Tuesday through Saturday.
