Description:
General Purpose:
Perform housekeeping and general maintenance services by keeping assigned areas clean, safe, and secure.
Essential Functions:
Daily Sanitation
- vacuum, sweep, mop, and spot clean floors
- Empty trash and recycling
- Sanitize restroom areas by disinfecting toilets, sinks, and counter-tops
- Wash general window area, both inside and outside
Periodic Housekeeping Duties
- Carpet cleaning
- Floor waxing
- Light maintenance
- Notify Distribution Administrative Assistant when trash, or cardboard compactors, are full and in need of a pick-up
Safety/Security/Maintenance
- Report and remove safety hazards
- Understand and follow procedures to handle and store chemicals properly
- Identify and report the need for major repairs to management
- Assist in helping monitor building security and safety (locker doors and scissor gates)
- Identify and report blocked fire extinguishers and exits
Grounds Keeping
- Maintain general outside premises by picking up trash and emptying outside trash containers
- General knowledge of housekeeping
- Keen sense of observation and meticulous work ethic. Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Must have a current Texas Driver License and must be able to pass a background check
- Ability to run power equipment (sweeper, slow speed buffer, high speed buffer, carpet cleaning equipment)
- Ability and willingness to work indoors & outdoors in varying degrees of temperatures and weather conditions
