Infrastructure Technician (Low Voltage Cabling)

The Infrastructure Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing and terminating client tech services & cables; including Cat5, Cat6, CATV and various other wiring disciplines. The Infrastructure Technician is also responsible for installing & testing cabling and associated equipment for data and voice cable systems, video surveillance systems, door access systems, business television systems, routers and other cabled devices. He/She may also be responsible for inspecting lines, laying ground cable, may include servicing feeder lines that provide cable access to several areas or working with drop lines that only allow access for one area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Installs, maintains, and repairs cable systems, in new or existing buildings.
  • Terminates and tests new cabling.
  • Mounts network racks and cabinets, network and surveillance equipment.
  • Installs wall mounted TV and monitors.
  • Tests and troubleshoots issues with network communication.
  • Conducts thorough inspections of cable lines to ensure the system is working correctly.
  • Performs maintenance on existing clients cabling systems.
  • Repairs related poles and towers to resolve cable issues.
  • Pulls, routes, or label any associated cables.
  • Install various support structures, including cable racks, j-hooks, inner-duct, and other related structures.
  • Communicates and collaborates with client and other members of the GO2 team to resolve complex issues.
  • Provides high-quality service to all customers.
  • Learn to utilize GO2’s tools and technology to stay connected to the GO2 team (i.e. Teams, Egnyte, PassPortal).
  • Will be required to send emails, enter work time in computer software and send pictures.
  • Apply additional resourcefulness to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Learn to configure endpoint devices, such as cameras and door access equipment, as part of the overall infrastructure.
  • Performs all tasks and duties in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or as necessary. Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs.
  • Represents GO2 in a manner that conveys professionalism, confidentiality, courtesy, fairness, personal integrity, and respect for others.
  • Occasional ground trench work to install direct burial cable may be required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or as necessary. Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs.

Additional Requirements:

  • You MUST be able to pass a federal / state government Criminal Background Check
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Ability to climb ladders / operate lift equipment
  • Must be experienced in use of common trade tools and power tools
  • Will be required to possess current or pass required OSHA and other associated safety training.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
