Pet Care Receptionist/Technician

Gochenauer Pet Resort, Lancaster County's most exciting pet care business, is looking for enthusiastic dog lovers to join our team!

We're a multi-generational, family owned business and have been providing quality pet care since 1971. We're currently the proud winners of 58 local reader's choice awards from publications including Lancaster Magazine and the Lancaster Newspaper.

We are currently seeking a dependable and positively motivated individual to join our team. This is a part time position with the potential for full time. This position includes working a variety of morning and afternoon shifts typically between the hours of 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM. This is a fast paced environment that requires the ability to work quickly and efficiently. This position includes weekends.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Greet and check pets in and out for boarding and grooming
• Escort pets to and from their living quarters
• Answering phones
• Scheduling boarding reservations and grooming appointments
• Obtaining all necessary information concerning pets and clients
• Interact with clients professionally, addressing their concerns and ensuring their pets receive top-notch care
• Processing boarding, grooming, and retail transactions
• General cleaning in all areas of the building
• Dishes, laundry, vacuuming, mopping and other janitorial duties
• Clean and maintain pet living areas
• Provide hands-on care for boarded and groomed animals, including cleaning, feeding, and walking.
• Playtime sessions with dogs
• Bathing pets
• Providing excellent customer service

Requirements:

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger animals or equipment. Ability to handle dogs up to 200 pounds and lift up to 50 pounds
• Patiently and compassionately care for pets
• Maintain favorable and positive work relations with others
• Flexible schedule
• Adaptability to changing schedules
• Available to work assigned days including weekends
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM
• Be at least 18 years of age

Scheduling Requirements:

• Available to work assigned days Sunday through Saturday. Shifts are typically between the hours of 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, this includes weekends and Holidays.

Working Conditions:

• Exposure to noise, odors, and animal related hazards
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Potential exposure to contagious diseases or animal bites
